I have worked with Gemma for several years. K Rouse was a customer of her previous employer. When Gemma was unexpectedly made redundant from her previous position I recommended her for the position at Birkwood Plant Training as I believed she would prove to be a great asset to them. Gemma is consistently professional and very well organised she always gives accurate up to date advice.
Over the past couple of months I have had some urgent training requirements and Gemma has ‘made these happen’. On the very rare occasion Gemma can’t answer a question she will always come back to me when she has the solution. I always trust Gemma’s advice as she has a wealth of industry knowledge and never takes anything for granted she is very thorough in her work.

I enrolled on a CPCS industrial fork lift course with Birkwood Plant Training back in February 2018 . From the first phone call nothing was too much trouble. Sally and her team were fantastic, nothing was to much trouble at all. I needed a test at short notice to fit in and around work and they managed to cater for my needs. The instructor Darryl Loftus was very helpful and went through all the questions with me that I was unsure of before organising to bring my test times for both the theory and practical forward due to the horrendous weather conditions, it was blowing a gale and snowing heavily.
Nothing was to much trouble for them, I am returning to do some more training and I am booked on with them for my NVQ.
I can highly recommend them in every way and would advise anyone wanting to access training to give them a ring with their requirement.

I elected to undertake CPCS training to better understand the safe operation of equipment whilst ascertaining a first-hand insight into the challenges, best practice and competence of Oakland’s site personnel. My personal reason for the course is to assist with the professional development of our operatives and give foundation to the appraisal of Oakland’s site supervision. The course has aided me greatly by clearly defining the potential outputs, capabilities and risks our people face every day when operating plant. Birkwood Plant Training have been supportive and informative, the course has been challenging but rewarding. I would recommend doing the CPCS course to any senior manager, estimator or safety professional. I have found the learning invaluable, whilst offering up a great opportunity for fun on my own journey to achieving professional excellence.
