Project Description
Noble Homes is a Castleford based Homebuilder and they pride themselves on keeping up to date with essential qualifications.
To guarantee that standard and competence are maintained across the business Noble Homes implement a best practice policy ensuring that supervisory and management skills are appropriate and fit for purpose. Their preferred course for this is the industry accredited Site Safety Plus Suite.
Site Safety Plus
The company was made aware of the Skills Connect funding by Promoting Construction West Yorkshire (CITB Training Group) who supplied flyers for them to display in staff rooms and site cabins.
Initially 2 employees put themselves forward and attended the first funded course in July 2022 .
Since then and additional 6 employees have achieved the SSSTS and one candidate achieved the SMSTS.
The funded training has had a very positive impact, increasing employee confidence and allowing individuals additional role responsibility.
Supervisors who can demonstrate their site knowledge through the SSSTS qualification can take control of some site operations, which offers them more responsibility and job security
Increased productivity is also noticeable as additional qualified supervisory staff allow easier allocation of teams on the numerous new build sites around the Leeds City Region.
Skills Connect offers free training courses to all adults across West Yorkshire and is part of the West Yorkshire Combined Authority’s Futuregoals campaign.
Noble Homes was founded in 1961 by Denis Noble, and his son, Chris Noble has continued successfully to grow the business, designing and building new homes.
Commitment to excellence
Noble Homes maintains a highly trained, qualified and experienced workforce that shares a commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction in all aspects of its operations. Managing Director Chris Noble says
“The Site Safety Plus Suite of courses provides the building and civil engineering industries with a framework for training and career development, for all levels of the workforce. The Scheme recognises a natural progression, from someone new to the industry through to those responsible for managing construction work.”
